Masks

Rainy days bring out some creativity. I was googling for a face mask recipe containing apple cider vinegar, but I accidentally found this Banana Milkshake Hair Mask.
It really does look like a frosty or a milkshake:

My bananas were very ripe ones that I pulled out of the freezer (frozen for using in banana bread or something), so they were very mushy and didn't need any added milk. I did add the honey and cocoa powder!

I also pulled out a smoothie that I made a couple weeks ago...wasn't too fond of...and just threw in the freezer.
I date and leave a comment on all my recipes; this one received a "healthy...not tasty."  ; )
I had hoped that the raspberries would be good enough, strong enough, to cover up any strong spinach flavor. Nope. So I threw in pears and grape juice.

Raspberry Spinach Smoothie
  • 2/3 c. frozen raspberries
  • 2/3 c. frozen spinach
  • 2/3 c. whole milk
  • 2/3 c. Soy Delicious Unsweetened Coconut Milk
  • 2-3 pears, frozen (mine were from a can)
  • 6 white grape juice cubes
Blend, stir, stab. Blend, stir, stab. ; )

So go ahead and make that smoothie, and when you don't like it: blend in oats and smear it on your face!

I probably used about 1/4 cup of smoothie and 1/4 cup of oats. They have to be blended to thicken it up, otherwise the oats will just fall off your face. There is also probably enough left for another mask.

VoilĂ !

T'would be a great night for a bib!

(November 2009. Very grainy.)

Results: My face looked cleaner and more evenly colored (less redness around blemishes) after the face mask.

I really don't know how my hair will turn out....because it additionally soaked in a bath tub with 2 cups of Epsom Salts and 1 cup of baking soda...
(Detox bath. For the first time. Super boring - laying down for 20 minutes while doing nothing is not my thing. Neither is laying in >100 degree (?) on a July day that peaked somewhere in the 80's.)
So, the mask + the detox bath + sleeping on it within the hour.
My face is quite rosy and happy looking after the detox bath! =)

Now I want to know:
what about an Epsom Salt face mask?
what would cayenne pepper do to a face?
